Tell us about yourself and how you got here.
I was born in London and emigrated to Perth when I was 12. I headed back across the pond when I was 18 to get my Animation Undergrad. I then spent some time working in London for a film production agency but missed the Perth weather and people too much so I came back! I fell into mentoring by accident really, having taken some casual hours between design contracts. I soon learned that making an impact on others was really important to me and decided to focus on a new career path.
Tell us something cool about your local area.
I live in Bayswater. Not only does it have the awesome and pretty unknown Riverside Gardens, it also seems to be Perth’s mecca for indoor rock climbing gyms. Something which I love to do.
What do you love to do in your spare time?
Mixed Martial Arts, Rock-climbing, Strength Yoga (Vinyasa), Hiking/Bushcraft and nutrition/cooking. Bit of a health nut! I also love to spend down time playing guitar and drawing.
Pretty much the best song in the world is...
Literally any songs by Pink Floyd or Frank Sinatra.
What is your favourite way to spend a sunday?
Every Saturday morning I train at a private Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym called the ‘Tanuki Pit’. I like to spend the rest of the day chilling out with my partner.
What is one of your favourite quotes?
I like the story of a young Buddhist monk who asked his master why they were taught martial arts whilst trying to attain inner peace. The master replied “It’s better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war”.
